In addition to the many great student-athletes who compete for the Orange, there are many outstanding voices who call the action who trained at Syracuse. Syracuse alums call play-by-play for each of the four main sports broadcasting networks and for teams in each of the four major sports leagues in America.
The most-followed game each football week is Monday Night Football. Every viewer and listener in America gets the story on television or radio from a Syracuse University alum. Mike Tirico '88 is the play-by-play voice for ESPN, while Marv Albert '63 is the lead announcer for Westwood One Radio. The only other NFL exclusive network time slot is Sunday nights, and that game is hosted by Syracuse's Bob Costas '74.
