Syracuse junior linebacker Doug Hogue earned the Walter Camp Football Foundation National Defensive Player of the Week Award and the BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week Award for his record-setting performance in Syracuse’s 31-13 victory against #25 Rutgers. Hogue established a Syracuse record with 6.5 tackles for loss. The record was 5.0, which was done by three players, including Antwaune Ponds in 1996, Dwight Freeney (2000) and Christian Ferrara (2003). Hogue had seven tackles, including the 6.5 for a loss of yards and 3.5 sacks, and one forced fumble against the Scarlet Knights.

Hogue ranks 15th nationally and second in the BIG EAST in sacks per game with .86 and ties for 15th in the country and is first in the league with 1.45 tackles for loss per game. His 16.5 tackles for loss this season ties for fourth on the Syracuse single-season record list.

Sophomore running back Antwon Bailey earned BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll recognition for his effort against the Scarlet Knights. He gained 181 all-purpose yards, including 77 yards on 16 carries, including his first touchdown of the season on a 14-yard rush, averaging 28.5 yards on two kickoff returns, including a career-long 27-yard return, and catching three passes for 47 yards

Syracuse will play at Connecticut this Saturday, November 28.
