SYRACUSE, NY -- The Syracuse men's basketball team will play home-and-home series against 2007 NCAA participants Georgetown and Villanova, as well as USF, in BIG EAST Conference play this winter. The league announced the home/away conference opponents for each of its teams on Friday, July 13. Dates and times for these games are expected to be announced in September.
In addition to the three home-and-home series, the Orange will host Connecticut, Georgetown (NCAA), Marquette (NCAA), Pittsburgh (NCAA), Providence (NIT), Rutgers, St. John's, USF and Villanova (NCAA), this season. Syracuse's road slate includes games at Cincinnati, DePaul (NIT), Georgetown (NCAA), Louisville (NCAA), Notre Dame (NCAA), Seton Hall, USF, Villanova (NCAA) and West Virginia (NIT).

The BIG EAST is in its third year of a 16-team configuration. For the first time since adding Cincinnati, DePaul, Louisville and Marquette as members, each squad will play a 18-game conference schedule. Teams will meet 12 opponents once and three opponents twice (home and away).
Thirteen of 16 BIG EAST squads earned postseason invitations in 2005-06 (8 NCAA, 5 NIT). A year ago the Orange played home-and-home with Cincinnati, Connecticut and Villanova and did not meet Marquette and Providence.
