Senior pitcher Brittany Gardner is the most experienced player on the Syracuse roster as the team prepares for the 2010 season. The Sterling, Va. native has made 103 appearances in the circle for the Orange, compiling 33 wins while reaching the century mark in strikeouts in each of her three season.

With the first week of fall practice winding down, the Orange continued to prepare for its upcoming fall schedule with hitting and situational drills on days two and four.
 
Day two began with an hour of hitting drills designed to help improve bat speed and power. The Orange rotated through hitting stations which ranged from hitting off tees and hitting off the pitching machine to swinging a sledge hammer and hitting tires.

The Orange softball team returned to the diamond on Monday morning to begin preparations for its fall schedule.

“The first day of practice was filled with great energy,” head coach Leigh Ross said. “The girls have set the tone for the type of team we want to be this year. We want to outwork our opponents and play the game with passion, while challanging and encouraging our teammates.”
