Former Syracuse University rower and Olympic gold medalist Anna Goodale ’05 was named to one of the top 10 female active rowers in 2009 by Worldrowing.com. Goodale has earned six goal medal points since 2006, ranking her tied for third with fellow USA teammates Carolina Lind and Lindsay Shoop.

Syracuse University women’s rowing coach Kris Sanford was named to the Children's Museum International Hall of Fame: Bicycling, Rowing, Canoeing, Kayaking & Hot Wheels Hall on Sat., Oct. 10. Joining Sanford in the hall of fame’s seventh class were Mike Duggan (Kayaking), Augusto Perez (canoeing) and Glenn Swan (bicycling). Former Orange men’s rowing coach and 2003 inductee, Bill Sanford introduced his daughter at the ceremony.

Syracuse Athletics fans can follow the Orange on their iPhone. Working with SIDEARM Sports, SU Athletics has launched one of the first collegiate iPhone applications. The free SU Athletics iPhone App allows fans one-click access to the latest news, schedules, scores, rosters, and photo galleries. In addition, the App integrates with Twitter so fans can see what SU Athletic coaches and all Orange fans around the world are tweeting about Syracuse University athletics. Future releases of the App are in the works and will include features such as statistics and video.

The Syracuse University women’s rowing team opened the 2009 fall season with a second-place finish at the Poughkeepsie Regatta at Longview Park. The Orange (25:05.73) finished 44 seconds behind Cornell (24:39.5) and a more than a minute ahead of third-place finisher Pennsylvania (26:18.23).

The Syracuse University women’s rowing team opens its 2009 fall season on October 3 at the Poughkeepsie Regatta. Syracuse enters the 2009-10 season with high expectations and a fierce commitment to make the upcoming year extraordinary.  With a senior class of 11 student-athletes leading the way, head coach Kris Sanford is excited and optimistic for what this year’s group can achieve.
