The Syracuse vs. Villanova game on Saturday, February 27, has officially sold out with 34,616 tickets sold. It will represent the largest on-campus crowd for a college basketball game in NCAA history, breaking the record set on March 5, 2006 for the Syracuse-Villanova game (33,633).

At 21-1 and 8-1 in the conference, #3/4 Syracuse seeks the best start in school history on Tuesday, Feb. 2 when it hosts Providence (12-9, 4-5) at 7 p.m. in the Carrier Dome. The Orange was 21-1 only one other time in its history (1979-80), but has never won 22 of its first 23 games to begin a season.

SYRACUSE, NY – The ‘Hoops for the Stars’ program will be highlighted with an on-court presentation to honor more than 150 Syracuse area youth on Tuesday, February 2 at the Syracuse University men’s basketball game against Providence at the Carrier Dome. For the second year in a row, SU and the National Grid Foundation partnered to implement the program to provide positive reinforcement, recognition of improved academic performance and attendance in school, a decrease in negative behavior, and positive contributions to the community. The program underscores a shared commitment by Syracuse University Athletics and the National Grid Foundation to create opportunities for solutions to educational issues within the Syracuse City School District.
