The field hockey team won its sixth BIG EAST regular-season title with a 6-1 victory against Rutgers last weekend. The Orange end the regular season with a 16-2 overall mark and and 6-0 record in league play. Syracuse is the No. 1 seed in the BIG EAST Championship this weekend in Providence, R.I. SU takes on Providence on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the semifinals.

The ice hockey squad hosts Niagara in its home opener on Friday at 7 p.m. at the Tennity Ice Pavilion. The teams will square off again on Saturday 2 p.m. The Orange is coming off a two-game sweep of RPI, improving its record to 3-4-1 this season. Stefanie Marty leads the Orange in scoring with nine points (4g, 5a), while Janelle Malcolm has recorded a team-best five goals. Admission to all home ice games is free of charge.
