Team USA Opens with 20-15 Win Against Iroquois

Syracuse's Josh Amidon and Team USA improved to 30-0 all-time in U-19 play Thursday.

7.4.2008 | MLax The United States opened 2008 International Lacrosse Federation (ILF) U-19 World Championship play with a 20-15 win against the Iroquois at Percy Perry Stadium. Attacker Andrew Feinberg led all scorers with five goals, followed closely by teammate Craig Dowd with four.

The victory lifted the Americans to a perfect 30-0 in U-19 international play since the first championship in 1988.

Seniors Jillian Drouin and Ramon Sosa qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track Championship with their performances at the NCAA East Regional. Drouin won the women's high jump with a season-best performance, clearing the bar at 1.84m. Sosa placed fourth in the men's 110m hurdles with a time of 13.88.

Seniors Kyle Heath and Kaity Lambracht have been named at-large selections to the 2008 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championship. Heath will compete in the 3,000m steeplechase, while Lambracht will take part in the heptathlon. The NCAA Championship takes place in Des Moines, Iowa from June 11-14.
